City of Corning
The City of Corning is nestled along the banks of the Chemung River. Home to upscale shops and restaurants, historic Market Street is the venue for many community events and gatherings. Corning Incorporated, the region's largest employer and a Fortune 500 corporation, maintains its world headquarters in the small community where it began more than 150 years ago.
A smaller town with its own vibrant community, Painted Post is host to newly built homes and residential communities in nearby Erwin. Painted Post's Colonial Days parade and celebration is a popular annual event for residents and visitors alike.
History of Painted Post and Town of Erwin
A beautiful tourist destination, the Finger Lakes region boasts sparkling lakes and award-winning regional wineries. Downhill and cross-country skiing facilities are nearby, as are fair-weather activities such as water sports, golf, hunting, fishing and camping.
Our community alliances are partnerships with organizations that support our educational mission: Students are the Center of All We Do.
The partnerships take many forms. They include field trips to classroom programs to career-oriented events. Some partnerships may impact one classroom or all students. Other partners support the District through financial donations in the form of grants. The grants are used to support our educational mission. Other partnerships combine efforts of the District with organizations that may focus on certain areas, such as health or safety.
We are grateful for the many organizations that support our students and District.
