Graduation Requirements

For high school graduation, New York State offers:

  • Regents Diploma: Passing score of 65 and above on required Regents Exams
  • Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation: Passing score of 65 and above on required Regents Exams PLUS Math B Exam, and additional Regents Science Exam, and a Regents Foreign Language Exam

C-PP High School students must complete 22 out of 24 credits to meet New York State Regents graduation requirements. Students must complete 24 credits in order to achieve New York Regents with Advanced Designation

The following Regents exams are required for either diploma:

  • English Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Global History
  • US History

Students can arrange their academic schedules over the course of four years to meet these requirements. Students must take at least 6 ½ credits per year, and may take elective courses in addition to meeting the following requirements in core subjects.

BOCES Career & Technical Education (Grades 9 – 12): The GST Career and Technical Education program (CTE) provides students the opportunity to experience hands-on training in a variety of career areas. The NYSED's Regents academic standards are integrated into each CTE course.
