DATA PRIVACY AND SECURITY

Corning-Painted Post Area School District is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of student data and teacher and principal data and will follow all applicable laws and regulations for the handling and storage of this data in district and when disclosing or releasing it to others, including, but not limited to, third-party contractors. CPP adopts this policy to implement the requirements of Education Law Section 2-d and its implementing regulations, as well as to align CPP's data privacy and security practices with the National Institute for Standards and Technology Cyber Security Framework (NIST CSF) for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity.

Using the "Links" area to the right, you will find CPP's policies and information for CPP's Data Privacy and Security Policy, Third Party Vendor Agreements, Parent's Bill of Rights, and information to report a possible improper disclosure or breach of information. You will also find links to NYS Law concerning Data Privacy and Security and also CPP's FERPA Annual Notification which provides notice to parents and eligible students of their rights under FERPA.
